Change needed to grow MGP

Changes could be on the way for the Manx Grand Prix.

A consultation into the future of the festival has found that the event has potential to grow but that changes are needed.

The Department of Economic Development says there's the potential to exploit the current strength of the TT brand, as well as looking into classic racing and heritage to grow the festival.

The information collected in the consultation is now being used to identify ways to make the Manx Grand Prix more profitable.

This year's event will remain unchanged.

Any new initiatives for 2013 will be announced by TT 2012.
