Passenger numbers at the Island's airport rose last year whilst those travelling by sea fell.
The total number of passenger departures rose by 1.6%, or just over 10,500 passengers.
There was a 5.2% rise in people using Ronaldsway, but a 1.3% fall in sea passengers.
The Treasury also estimates that the number of visitors to the Island increased by just under 12,000 in 2011.
However, the length of time spent on the Island by tourists fell from 5.6 nights to 5.1.
Total spend for visitors coming to the Island was just under £98million, an 8.7% increase on 2010, whilst the average visitor increased their spend whilst on the Island by £12.
