The Chief Minister is urging more candidates to come forward for the upcoming local authority elections.
All 24 local government boards hold elections next month, with nominations for candidates closing in ten days time.
Allan Bell says members of local authorities can make a significant difference in their local communities and ensure value for ratepayers.
In the last elections in 2008, many seats were uncontested, and there was a low turnout by voters.
