Onchan Commissioners is to consider letting the police officers responsible for the village move into a spare office at its headquarters.
Although there will still be 6 police officers responsible for Onchan, they will be based in Douglas from April.
The local authority says it has a good working relationship with the constabulary and would like to see the police remain in the district.
There was some concern that the police sharing the commissioners' building could lead to more callers at reception and problems with parking.
The board is to write to the Department of Home Affairs expressing its disappointment of the loss of the facility.
Onchan and Braddan police stations are closing due to budget cuts.
