£3m needed for new airport baggage handling facility

Thu, 08 Mar 2012

The Department of Infrastructure wants to spend almost £3m on new baggage handling facilities at the airport.

Minister David Cretney will ask Tynwald approval for the scheme at this month's sitting.

The project would see an extension built at Ronaldsway which would be fitted out with new baggage handling and X-Ray equipment.

Money for the capital scheme is set aside in the budget for the new financial year

Further details about the proposal will be presented to politicians and the media next week.
