Some construction workers are reporting their jobs are at risk at Heritage Homes.
Site staff say they've been informed that decisions over lay-offs will be made next week, when they will be called into meetings.
The company plans to release a statement in due course.
Heritage Homes recently learnt that it failed to get planning permission to build a new housing estate in Kirk Michael.
The development of 100 homes on land behind the primary school was turned down by an inspector on appeal and the decision was backed by the Council of Ministers.
The scheme was refused both on its own merits and because road access should be determined once a firm decision is made about a by-pass route.
