OFT warns of Olympic Games scam

The Office of Fair Trading is warning of a new prize-draw scam.

People have been receiving letters which falsely suggest they're from the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games.

They tell the reader they are entitled to a lump sum prize from a lottery draw and then go on to ask for personal details.

The Island's OFT reminds that if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

People are told not to be afraid to put letters like this in the bin and advised to discuss the correspondence with friends, family or the OFT.
