MEA warns of hoax phone calls

Fri, 24 Feb 2012

Hoax callers are targeting MEA customers.

The Manx Electricity Authority says it's been made aware of the scam, where the caller claims to be contacting the customer about an overdue account.

The board says it's contacted the Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading about the matter.

Anyone who receives such a call is advised not to pass on personal details.

Those with concerns can contact the MEA on 687687.
