Work is to begin on replacing the worn car park surface at the Sound Cafe later this month.
Manx National Heritage says the number of visitors means the surface has become deformed more quickly than expected.
The organisation has planning permission to replace the plastic surface with a natural stone one, which it's hoped will be more hard wearing.
The work is due to get underway on February 16th, being completed by the end of May.
The works will result in the closure of half the car park, which means there could be disruption for visitors.
In recent years, over 80,000 people have visited the Sound annually, with 68,000 vehicle movements per year.
