The Island's hospitality sector says the Manx Grand Prix is a very important contributor to the Island's tourism industry.
The Manx Hospitality Partnership says many of its members rely on the business from MGP visitors.
Figures released by the Department of Economic Development show that visitors for the festival spend around £5.9million whilst on the Island but don't make a significant contribution to Government.
The DED has spent over £800,000 on the festival in each of the last two years, and is carrying out a review of the event.
The lobby group believes the MGP is an essential part of the Manx tourism sector and that it should remain as a main event.
