Interim statement on Cork air crash released

An interim statement has been released by investigators looking into the fatal Manx2 air crash in Cork.

The document makes reference to a fault with an engine sensor but doesn't apportion blame to any one factor as the inquiry is still continuing.

The Belfast to Cork service crashed on the runway at Cork Airport last February killing six people and seriously injuring four others.

The plane was making its third attempt to land in thick fog when the right wing tip touched the tarmac, causing it to roll.

The investigation is currently carrying out a flight path analysis which it's hoped could help provide additional information regarding the loss of control of the aircraft

The aircraft was owned by a Spanish firm called Flightline BCN, which no longer has any involvement with Manx2.

The final report will be released in due course.
