Douglas Council wants more information on how a new store opening on the Spring Valley Industrial Estate would affect retail.
The local authority wants to see a Retail Impact Assessment in relation to a planning application for a Curry's and PC World store to open.
However, the board isn't objecting to the plans at this stage.
The Policy and Resources Committee wants to reserve the right for the Council to submit further comments later in the planning process.
Earlier this year, Douglas Council objected to plans by Next to open a store on the same site.
Dixon's Retail, which owns Curry's and PC World, says the store would sell white good and general electrical appliances, plus computers and related accessories.
