Health chiefs say respect and dignity for patients is a fundamental part of the healthcare services.
The comments come as the Department of Health marked Dignity Action Day, which serves as a reminder to show how patient's dignity is upheld, and for those using the health service to feed back.
However, the Department says there is always room for improvement, and that the community nurses on the Island are working to raise awareness of patient's dignity.
Staff have been attending a dignity workshop to help find ideas to improve the current standards.
