Women over the age of 70 could be called for routine breast screening in the future.
The Department of Health says those over 70 may be offered screening if that's the recommendation of a review, currently taking place in the UK.
Ramsey MHK Leonard Singer asked Health Minister David Anderson if the changes would be made in this week's sitting of the House of Keys.
At the moment, only those aged 50 to 70 are routinely screened, although those with concerns are able to arrange an appointment.
Mr Anderson says that age group remains the priority for now, until the report into the review is published [play clip]
