MHK calls for land swap investigation

The MHK for Michael is to ask for Tynwald to investigate the land swap deal between the Department of Education and Children and Heritage Homes.

Alfred Cannan will ask for a Select Committee with three members to look into the deal, which sees the playing field at Michael Primary School transferred to Heritage Homes in exchange for another plot of land nearby.

He wants the investigations to ensure the taxpayer is getting value for money through the deal.

Mr Cannan has written to Tynwald members asking for their support and will bring a motion asking for the committee to be set up in the February sitting of the parliament.
