Lengthy Foxdale works get started next week

Tue, 31 Jan 2012

Road works scheduled to take nearly six months are due to get underway on Main Road in Foxdale next week.

From Monday there'll be twenty four hour temporary traffic lights on the A3 between Brookfield Bank House and Ballanass Road for twenty five weeks.

The work will see a new drainage system installed, reconstruction of the road where the old railway line crossed the road, works to the footpaths and the road itself strengthened and resurfaced.

For the majority of the works one lane will remain open, however there is due to be a two week closure during February, and a further closure near the end of the works for the resurfacing.

The Department of Infrastructure says there will also be diversion signs in place for motorists, whilst pedestrians will be directed towards the former railway lines.

Access for residents will be maintained at all times.
