The Treasury is looking to change the way self-employed workers pay National Insurance.
The Income Tax Division is asking for views on changing class 2 payments from weekly to annually.
It wants to bring NI and Income Tax into alignment where possible.
Those required to pay class 2 currently pay £2.50 per week, as well as class 4 contributions on a yearly basis.
The consultation documents are available on the Treasury pages of the Government website.
Anyone wishing to submit their views must do so by March 2nd.
