Bell thought Island had started to lose "tax haven" label

The Chief Minister says he thought the days of the Island being branded a tax haven were coming to an end.

Allan Bell had felt the tide was changing before Labour leader Ed Miliband told the UK media that tax evaders are hiding billions in the crown dependencies including the Isle of Man.

Mr Bell has refuted the MP's comments, calling them disappointing and ill-informed.

However, the Chief Minister says such scrutiny is to be expected as the UK heads back towards recession [play clip]
