The inquest into the death of a Castletown man who died in a crash has been opened and adjourned.
Barrie Sumner was killed when his motorbike collided with a car at Sunny Orchard, near to the Fairy Bridge, last Tuesday morning.
The inquest heard the 46 year old Steam Packet worker was thrown from his bike, landing in a ditch.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post mortem found he died from multiple injuries.
Investigations into the crash continue and the inquiry was adjourned until a later date.
Coroner Jayne Hughes offered her condolences to Mr Sumner's family and friends.
