The Liberal Vannin Party wants to correct what it calls imbalance in the Island's housing market in 2012.
The party believes housing should be accessible, affordable and sustainable.
It wants to see a part equity mortgage scheme brought in, to help those in public sector housing get on the property ladder.
Liberal Vannin is also calling for the creation of a protected sector, placing tighter restrictions on the sale and occupation of first time buyer houses, and for parcels of land to be released allowing large houses to be built.
The party also wants to see the creation of a landlord's registration scheme for private rental homes.
It believes these changes will go a long way towards correcting to imbalance between residential and rental housing on the Island.
