Manx National Heritage is inspecting damage caused to one of the Island's historic monuments.
A vandal spray painted the ruins on Hango Hill in Castletown sometime around Christmas Eve.
The structure is the remains of a 16th Century banqueting hall used by the Earl of Derby and was later the execution place of celebrated Manx patriot Illiam Dhone.
The vandalism comes just days before the annual Illiam Dhone ceremony, which is held there on 2nd January.
The roadway and the nearby wall of King William's College were also sprayed with blue paint and police are investigating.
Head of Professional Services for MNH, Andrew Foxon says they're trying to find the best way to remove the graffiti.[take cut]
