Fire officers are highlighting the importance of working fire alarms and smoke detectors after two dogs were rescued from a property in Peel.
The fire started on Saturday morning on Michael Street.
All occupants had escaped the blaze, but fire crews had to get the dogs out.
Officers remained on the scene for around three hours putting the fire out and checking the damage hadn't spread to neighbouring properties.
The fire service says in this case the alarm system brought the fire to the occupants attention quickly, and prevented further damage.
