One of the Island's largest infrastructure projects is another step closer to completion.
Manx Gas says the first phase of the natural gas conversion is almost finished.
It's said the change from LPG or town gas will allow the company to introduce an all-island tariff and give households a wide choice of modern and efficient appliances.
Engineers have carried out safety checks at 6,700 properties.
Fitting of the conversion kits will begin in Ramsey at the end of February.
Conversion project Manager Aidan Baglow says engineers found a number of households were using unsafe appliances and he encourages people to have regular checks carried out.[play media file below]
