The Ben-my-Chree will go into dry dock later than originally planned.
The Steam Packet Company says it put back the maintenance break by 12 hours in order to allow it to clear the freight backlog.
The delay means the vessel can carry out a "dangerous goods" sailing this evening, bringing more freight back overnight.
Cammell Laird shipyard has had a cancellation from another operator, meaning the dock will still be available for the new schedule.
The Ben-my-Chree had been due to enter dry dock to have it's now repaired bow thruster refitted tomorrow morning.
The additional sailings will be freight only, with all passengers travelling on the Manannan from tomorrow.
The Steam Packet hasn't been able to charter a freight vessel for the weekend, so Manannan will undertake some freight only sailings whilst the Ben is out of service.
