The average family will spend over £650 on Christmas and many people will use December's wage packet to pay for it.
A large number of us will also borrow money to fund the festive season.
The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading is giving out practical tips this month to help people make their cash go further and to soften the blow on our bank accounts.
One thing the OFT recommends is saving throughout the year.
