We'll know the outcome of a report into bringing Sarah's Law in on the Isle of Man early next year.
Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson told the House of Keys today that the working party looking into the legislation is due to file its report to him before Christmas.
He'll then form his views from it in the New Year.
Mr Watterson also confirmed that the group has been given all the relevant information it needs during its investigation.
Sarah's Law is in place across the UK, and allows parents greater ability to check whether sex offenders are in contact with their children.
The Department of Home Affairs initially said the law wouldn't be brought in on the Island, but formed the working party following a petition from the public.
