The Minister for Economic Development says the Isle of Man doesn't have the necessary experience to carry out it's own study into a TT World Series.
The Manx Government is paying £57,000 to London-based Sports Consultancy.
John Shimmin says the agency was picked as it has significant experience in related studies, for events including the Olympics, F1 and the Ryder Cup.
The Department of Economic Development is looking into whether the TT brand can be exported around the world through a series of races.
Michael MHK Alfred Cannan suggested in the House of Keys this morning that the DED could have saved money by simply calling the major TV broadcasters in Britain to see if they'd be interested in showing such a series.
However, Mr Shimmin doesn't think that would be in depth enough [play clip]
