Guy Martin came 10th in the poll

TT rider Guy Martin has made the top ten in Talksports Sport's Personality of the Year Award.

The Lincolnshire rider was the only sportsman from outside football to make the list.

Manchester City's controversial striker Mario Balotelli topped the poll, which also featured QPR's Joey Barton, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, and Blackpool manager Ian Holloway.

The sports broadcaster asked fans to vote for sports stars purely on their character, after criticising the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year nominees for lacking personality.

Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish is favourite to win the BBC award.
