More disruption possible for sailings

The Steam Packet Company is warning of possible disruption later today as gale force winds are forecast.

The operator says it will issue an update at 4.00pm, as there could be problems for the evening sailing to Heysham, and the return crossing overnight.

Today's forecast says there'll be winds of gale force 8 and occasionally severe gale force 9, with the sea being rough to very rough.

It could be the first of several days of disruption for the Steam Packet, with a minimum of gale force 8 forecast for the next five days.
