A feasibility study to see if the TT could become a world series will cost £57,000.
The Government is looking to cash in further on the event and has hired London-based 'The Sports Consultancy' to carry out the work.
When the news was announced last week, the cost of the exercise wasn't revealed and political member for the Department of Economic Development Geoff Corkish said he didn't know the price.
A statement has now been released to clarify the situation.
The £57,000 study includes full analysis of all technical and commercial aspects of a world series, legal issues, economic impact and a risk management review.
Eight consultancy staff will work on the project and the fee includes travel and expenses.
