The government has appointed a company to investigate the possibility that the TT Races could be turned into a world series.
The Department of Economic Development is looking at ways it could cash in further on the event, which is arguably the world's most famous motorcycle race.
London based company 'The Sports Consultancy' will carry out the study after winning the tender for the project.
The work will start this month and is due to be complete by March.
However, we won't be told the results until an announcement is made at the 2012 TT.
The Sports Consultancy has worked with major events including the Olympic Games, the Ryder Cup and Formula One.
