Roadworks will begin on Monday in the centre of Douglas.
The Department of Infrastructure is to refurbish the footways on Prospect Hill.
They're being replaced between Circular Road and Athol Street.
Lowered kerbs will be placed at the junctions to help wheel chair users and people with push chairs.
A one way system will be in place on Prospect Hill, between Finch Road and Circular Road.
People travelling down Buck's Roads will be diverted via Circular Road, where temporary adjustments are being made to the traffic lights.
The DoI aims to have the scheme complete by Christmas.
