DoI to get tougher on illegal parking

The government claims the public wants to see parking better policed and enforced.

The results of a consultation about on and off-street parking issues have been released.

Douglas has the most need for extra spaces followed by Peel, Castletown and Ramsey - in that order.

The majority of people are in favour of a park and ride scheme if it's reliable and cheap.

The Department of Infrastructure is now developing a plan taking into account the responses from the survey.

Park and ride schemes will now be researched, we could get more multi-storey car parks in future and illegal parking will be enforced to a higher level.
