The MHK for Castletown thinks the opening of a Tesco store in the town could cause problems for local retailers.
Richard Ronan says the opening of the new Tesco Express shop in Callow's Yard could be detrimental to all retailers in Castletown.
The newly elected MHK is also worried about the effect Tesco will have on traffic through customer parking and deliveries.
Mr Ronan says he isn't against Tesco, but believes Castletown already has businesses which serve it well, which pay tax to the Isle of Man Government.
