It's hoped the development of a Tesco store in Castletown will bring more people to the area. A Tesco Express convenience shop is to open at Callow's Yard in the town centre. The site is already designated for retail, so it doesn't need planning permission. There's no exact word yet on when it's due to open. Tesco says it will create around 20 jobs. There are existing grocery stores in the area and there is some concern about how these will be affected. However, Comissioner Colin Leather says people are mainly in favour of having a Tesco in the town.[play media file below]
