Snowy driving conditions on the Island last year
Motorists could face prosecution if their cars aren't fit for the road this winter.
The Department of Infrastructure is checking vehicles on the Island to make sure they're safe for use in harsher weather.
Anyone who doesn't pass the spot checks could be fined.
The Department's also giving advice on how to prepare for driving in icy or snowy conditions.
