Island motorists are being urged to make sure their vehicles are ready for the winter.
The Department of Infrastructure wants drivers to check their lights, tyres, windscreen wipers and battery to make sure they're all in good working order before the harsher weather arrives.
Vehicle testers from the Department and the police will be carrying out spot checks on cars in the coming weeks.
Director of Highways Richard Pearson says the checks are about making sure people are safe, not handing out fines [play clip]
