A cowboy builder who has targeted Manx residents over recent years has been prosecuted by the Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading.
The builder pleaded guilty to offences under the Consumer Protection (Trades Description) Act after he charged for work that was never carried out.
The tradesman was hit with a substantial fine, and ordered to pay the prosecution costs.
The OFT says it won't hesitate to prosecute other traders acting unlawfully on the Island.
Anyone looking to have building work carried out can contact the Office of Fair Trading for advice on choosing a reputable builder.
