The number of children in need of protection on the Island has nearly doubled since February 2008.
60 children are currently subject to a Child Protection Plan through the Department of Social Care, compared to 34 in 2008.
The Department says the jump is down to better detection of vulnerable children.
Nearly 900 children were referred to social services over the last year, with over half of those judged to be at risk of harm.
The figures were revealed in answer to a series of question from Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan in this month's sitting of Tynwald
