The Manx National Farmers' Union says the meat industry on the Island has to move forward.
The statement comes as the Government announces that it's to bail out the struggling meat plant, transferring its ownership to a Treasury owned company.
The plant's current owners warned that the facility would be insolvent within six months if action wasn't taken.
The Union says it's known for some time that the plant has been having financial difficulties, and that farmers have been trying to do their bit to help.
