A man is in hospital with serious head injuries following a fight between two men in Castletown.
The incident happened at around 6.15 yesterday evening in Malew Street.
As a result, the whole of Bank Street, and Malew Street between the Old Church and Market Square are closed until further notice.
Forensic investigations will take place once it's daylight.
A 42 year old local man is currently being treated in Noble's hospital, with a 35 year old man in police custody.
Officers say they aren't looking for any other suspects.
The police are keen to hear from any witnesses that they haven't already spoken to. They are particularly keen to hear from a man in his 40s or 50s who was at the scene at the time of the incident.
