The Steam Packet says the cancellation of Rally Isle of Man will have an inevitable knock-on effect for the local tourism industry.
The company has issued a statement saying it's disappointed and saddened at the news.
The rally was cancelled last week after the government asked for it to moved to the end of October.
Its usual slot was in the summer.
The change of dates caused a number of problems.
One issue with holding it next month would have been the Steam Packet's winter sailing schedule.
