The Steam Packet Company says it's disappointed that Rally Isle of Man has been cancelled.
The ferry operator says the loss of the event will have a knock on effect for tourism on the Island.
Organisers were asked to change the date by the Isle of Man Government from the summer to October.
Some teams found this difficult as the Steam Packet will have stopped it's fastcraft sailings for the winter by then.
The company says it's a shame that this caused problems as it would have offered heavily discounted deals to competitors.
The final straw for the event was a Manx National Heritage event in Castletown, meaning the Rally would have been unable to get a road closure order for a stage in the town.
The organisers of the rally and the Government are to meet to discuss the future of the event soon.
