Douglas and Braddan have confirmed that they will be continuing the kerbside recycling scheme.
A three year deal with the Government comes to an end next month, meaning the local authorities will be taking over the costs for the service.
Douglas expects it will cost the ratepayer £85,000 up to April next year, with Braddan estimating £22,000.
Onchan Commissioners had already announced that it wouldn't be continuing the scheme.
Douglas Council says the recycling reduces its fees at the Energy from Waste Plant as less refuse is being taken there, and it also brings funds in from the sale of recyclables.
The scheme was brought in in 2008, providing householders with recycling boxes for household waste including drinks cans and newspapers.
