The Government's Head of Motorsport says he would like to see a sustainable rally event on the Island next year.
Rally Isle of Man was cancelled yesterday after new dates for the event caused a number of logistical problems.
The event was moved from the summer to October at the request of the Government.
The rally was a round in several rally championships, some of whom couldn't work with the change of dates.
There were also transport problems for the teams with the winter ferry service in operation by then.
The final straw was a Government organised ghost walk in Castletown, meaning the Rally was unable to obtain a road closure order.
Trevor Hussey, from the Department of Economic Development, says he hopes to meet with the organisers to discuss the future soon [play clip]
