Plans to bring in the Disability Discrimination Act are being moved forward.
The Department of Social Care has brought in a specialist firm to look at the implications of bringing the legislation in on the Island.
The Department says it wants the Act to be in place without having an adverse economic affect on the Island.
A review into the Act will be carried out, with the assessment expected to be finished by January next year.
The Department will then review the findings before they go before Tynwald for approval
