The Government says it's stepping up efforts to save money by cutting its office accommodation costs and selling off surplus assets.
It claims it's already disposed of property worth £1.85m and made savings of £500,000 a year.
A team called the Strategic Asset Management Unit has been pulled together in the Department of Infrastructure to build on this and improve efficiency.
The unit's target is to save £1.5m in the annual cost of providing office accommodation.
In the last few years, savings have already been made in these areas by moving staff from rented office space to government owned properties.
