The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading is reminding the Manx public to use approved engineers for work on gas appliances.
The organisation has teamed up with the Department of Infrastructure to raise awareness of the dangers gas can pose when poor installation work is carried out.
The Gas Safe Register replaced CORGI as the official body for gas safety, and all engineers carrying out work should be on the Register.
Approved engineers should carry cards which show what work they are qualified to undertake.
An expert from the Isle of Man Gas Safe Register will be at B&Q this morning to give advice to consumers.
