There've been complaints about the short notice given to people affected by road closures for the Commonwealth Youth Games.

The Department of Infrastructure only issued the information yesterday.

A number of roads around Douglas and Onchan will be closed at times over the next few days for the cycling events.

The northern end of Douglas seafront from the Terminus Tavern Pub to Sea Cliff Road in Onchan will shut tomorrow night from 6pm till 10pm.

Residents of Willaston and Governor's Hill, will effectively be hemmed in between 9.45am and 4.30pm on Saturday, with closures on Ballanard Road, Glencrutchery Road and Johnny Watterson's Lane.

However, pedestrians can cross roads if they ask a marshal and the circuit will open to traffic at lunchtime between 12.15 and 1pm.

After getting complaints about springing this on people at the last minute, the DoI has now sent out traffic wardens and parking controllers to put information through people's doors.

Full details of the road closures, including maps, can be found below.
