An election candidate for Rushen thinks government's books need to balanced without raising taxes or spending reserves.
62 year old John Orme was an MHK from 1986 to 1991.
When he wasn't re-elected, he became a UK barrister.
He says he's standing for two main policy reasons.
One is the common purse agreement with the UK.
He believes we should be financially independent from the United Kingdom.
